Custoza

A small village in the municipality of Sommacampagna, in the province of Verona. A picturesque village with hills cultivated with mulberry trees and vines, in the last foothills of Lake Garda's Morainic amphitheatre.

The place lends its name to a DOC wine, Custoza white, with an annual production of around 100,000 hl.
Worth a visit is the Custoza Ossuary, which sits on top of Custoza's Belvedere Hill, a historical building that witnessed the events and most important battles of the Italian Risorgimento. The monument is surrounded by the Moraine Hills of Garda, with a 360° view over the Po Valley, the Euganean Hills and the Berico Hills, the Carega Group, Monte Lessini, Monte Baldo, Lake Garda, the Brescian Pre-Alps, and the Alps of Lombardy and Trentino Alto-Adige.
