The Maria Vittoria Farmhouse B&B rises up from the landscape around it as a beacon of serenity and sustainability. Everything we do is guided by love and dedication, as well as respect for the environment and attention to detail.
We’re very much aware of the importance of preserving our planet for future generations and we’re actively committed to fostering sustainability in everything we do. We believe in using resources responsibly, which is why we’ve adopted a number of eco-friendly practices that are the foundation stones of our daily operations.
Sustainability
With love and respect for nature, we are dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences, strong in the knowledge that every little gesture can help protect the planet.
But what do we actually do?
ENERGY:
To ensure responsible energy use, we adopt efficient solutions with a reduced environmental impact:
- We use energy-efficient A-class bulbs for at least 40% of the total lighting and 50% of lights used for over 5 hours. Additionally, our lighting system is equipped with an automatic shut-off timer.
- We regulate the temperature in common areas, maintaining it above or below 22°C, respectively, in summer and winter, for a comfortable and eco-sustainable climate.
- We do not use heating or air conditioning in outdoor spaces, promoting harmony with the surrounding environment.
- 100% of our electricity comes from renewable sources, minimizing carbon emissions.
- We do not use coal or fuel oil with a sulfur content exceeding 0.1%.
WATER:
We reduce water consumption by adopting efficient solutions and carefully managing water resources:
- We change bed linens and towels according to the optimized frequency set in our environmental policy, less often than daily, except upon guest request.
- Our plumbing systems and equipment are highly efficient, with certified quality and reduced flow for dishwashers and washing machines.
WASTE AND DISCHARGES:
Our waste management aims to reduce environmental impact and optimize resources:
- We source food according to seasonality and guest flow, minimizing waste and optimizing packaging use.
- We properly sort waste, including hazardous types, and follow a responsible disposal policy.
ADDITIONAL INITIATIVES:
Our Agriturismo adopts further sustainable practices to ensure an eco-friendly experience in harmony with the region:
- The entire facility is 100% non-smoking, in both accommodations and indoor common areas.
- We minimize the use of impervious surfaces outside, promoting natural soil infiltration.
- We carefully select local, seasonal, and organic products, prioritizing zero-kilometer options in our menus.
- We do not use pesticides in outdoor areas, preserving the natural environment around us.
